About Us
Welcome to Can’t Sit Still Crafts! We are a custom embroidery and sewing shop who loves having the opportunity to provide you with custom personalized items. Can’t Sit Still Crafts is owned by Deann. We have been creating special and unique items since June 7, 2013.
I have always enjoyed making items from the time I was 8 years old or so. I started with my grandma teaching me how to crochet. I was in 4H for many years and did ceramics, sewing, and crochet during those years. My mom loves to sew and embroider and I learned that aspect from her. I have been blessed to have two very special and talented people share their talents with me.
I have been married for 30 years and we have 3 grown sons, 3 exchange sons, 3 daughters-in-love, and 3 grandsons. While my boys were still at home growing up, I was a stay-at-home mom and we always made Christmas gifts to give to teachers, grandparents, aunt, uncles, and godparents. All 3 of our children are also very talented in making items to this day.
When my kids were older, I went back to work and started a child care facility at our church. I then moved to teaching 3rd grade for many years. I have been doing craft shows for about 25 years and in 2013 started my Etsy store when a friend told me that she thought my items would sell well on that platform. Within a couple of years, my store had grown enough that I quit my teaching job to stay at home and work on my business full time. I started my own website in 2019 and look forward to what God has planned for the future of my business.
With a love of giving handmade gifts and my love of family and children, it seems natural that my business features handmade gifts that can be given to people of all ages but has a large focus on children’s items.
